I think what the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy describes isn’t so much an expert researcher as an ideal researcher

Keywords: librarianship , teaching

This makes me want to know even more what the Framework is basing its ideas about an “expert researcher” on if it doesn’t come from any established model or, I suspect, real world behavior.

In 2007 a published article suggested that 50% of academic papers are read only by their authors, and the journal editors, and 90% of published articles are never cited

Keywords: academia , ramblings

I don’t post [short articles] on the course website because it’s a pain having to move them every year, and I want more than just the students in my class to be able to see them. There is sometimes a student who complains about having to click to a website… life is harsh right? I can also write a whole series of posts on a particular topic, and I am not constrained by the notions of what journal articles want you to write.
